It's here, it's here!

Today is April 30th and it's the first glimpse of actual, promising Spring weather.

The sun is shining, today we will get a brief respite from the rain, the neighbors are outside playing, D has retrieved our patio furniture from the shed, lawn mowers are buzzing all along the street, and the only thing that sounds good for dinner is burgers on the grill.

There is something about sunshine and freshly cut grass that lifts your spirits (and makes your eyes water!).

I'm finishing up the last of my classwork, taking a walk around the neighborhood, and helping some friends open up their pool. It's a good day.

love is in the heir

Much to my husband's dismay, and secret pleasure because I think he likes it too! ha ha, I am completely obsessed with the upcoming royal wedding. The only channel we've watched this week is BBC America and I'm just about an expert on Prince William and Kate, I mean Catherine, Middleton. ; )

Since we're being honest, I was one of those girls who had a big crush on Prince William from ages 11-14. My parents did not help the situation, bringing home William themed gifts from London after an anniversary gift. I also think he was much cuter back then (with more hair) than he is now, but Kate, I mean Catherine, is just beautiful and I'm sure their wedding will be a fairytale....a fairytale that I will be celebrating!!

I having girlfriend over tomorrow night to watch the day's events, courtesy of my dvr. I'm serving wedding cup-cakes and champagne and there may be a tiara or two involved. I'm simply beside myself with joy!

...and because I can't help myself I will also wake up in the wee hours of the morning to watch the arrival and processional live, just to say I did.

In the meantime I need to finish school work and get to bed early!

Can't figure out how to format my post below into paragraphs. sorry!

all the single ladies...

D is out of town for the week, so I am declaring myself a single married lady. What does that mean, you ask? I am watching more tv that D doesn't like. Eatin' peeps. Hanging out with girlfriends. Costco-ing it up. and writing grad school papers. whoa, your jealous right? : ) For real cooking for one person stinks. I have zero desire to mess up the kitchen or eat leftovers for days on end. It's supposed to be nice this weekend, so when D gets home we are grilling out and having a proper meal! I'm still plugging away at running my 5k. We had to make a slight change on plans concerning my first race on April 17...as in cancel it. 1. I wasn't quite ready 2. It's Palm Sunday I'm ok with the change on plans, hopefully with the nice weather will come more opportunities to train outside. I am craving sunshine and sitting on the patio! Had a blast celebrating H2's birthday this past weekend. Looking forward to the hopeful, fresh start that a new week brings. .....even if I am temporarily a single lady -h
