We all knew this day would come...the day I plunked a sweater vest identical to one Danny owns over sweet Henry head and made him match his daddy.

Remember that one time daddy was stranded in Alaska.....

Danny is STRANDED, STUCK, SNOWED IN in Alaska right now.

Um, I didn't think things like that happened in real life! He was working in a remote location and took a small plane over and when it was time to leave the weather was too inclement to fly out. Being that it is Alaska and people frequently work at this location, and apparently this is common (!?) there is a camp at the location with bunk beds and a cafeteria, so he is safe, and stuck.

Henry and I miss our Danny/daddy. Hopefully the weather clears and he will be home before Sunday...or Monday? In the meantime we are hunkering down with movies and baby toys and wine until our main man come home. ; )

After his bath two nights ago I thought it would be extra cozy to put Henry into one of his robes ( seriously the cutest, most impractical baby gift.....and I love it! ) and read a few stories.

Danny is in Alaska this week and the last time he was there he bought Mr. Henry "Polar Bear, Polar Bear What Do You Hear?" so we chose that book to read since it reminded us of daddy.

I think these pics warmed daddy's heart all the way in AK!

All I want for Christmas....

I loved Christmas before, but Henry amps up my excitement significantly more! Danny and I have been brainstorming this week what we think Santa will bring this year for Christmas and have created a.....

Voting

sitting in the cart, the county fair, & crying it out

Today I left Henry sit (well toddle) in the front of a grocery cart... he looked so precious wedged between saltine crackers and Fiber One bars to keep from toppling over.

We started Henry on solid foods a few weeks ago. Solid foods = Solid....diapers Danny has somehow avoided these diapers, until today. While changing Henry's diaper he proclaimed "Henry! You smell like the county fair!" lol

Tonight Danny and I put on our pare t hats and let Henry self soothe to sleep. aka scream pitiful bloody murder for 30 mins. it.was.awful. We sat in the hall passing a beer back and forth until he wore himself out. The baby book tells me I am a good parent for doing this, but I feel like "the county fair"

Henry's first wedding

Yesterday we drove to West Virginia to celebrate the wedding of Danny's cousin. Henry was a champion traveler, and slept most of the way : ) I struggled to find him a dressy outfit and ultimately decided on a one piece ivory cable knit sweater with wooden buttons, a page boy hat, and dark brown suede loafers....much to the dismay of my husband and brothers in law. He looked precious! Even if it wasn't the most practical outfit!

We had a nice time visiting with family, eating delicious food, and burning up the dance floor up until bedtime.

Today we are headed home with a pit stop in Holmes Co ("Amish Country") we will all look forward to a cozy evening at home before another busy work and election week.

Gone are the Fridays spent at wine tasting, movies, and half price sushi bars. We celebrate the weeks end by picking out new baby food (what WILL Henry try next week?), pizza and beer, snuggling on the couch, and going to bed before 10pm. Sound boring? It probably is....in the most perfect way.

a long time coming....

A new baby, a job, and general craziness of life caused me to take an unexpected blogging break. After a few months (wow!) I have grown to miss sharing my sweet Henry and my thoughts on this blog so I'm baack! AND because it is November 1st I am going to try to blog every day this month...I know you are snickering already.... : )
